Alley Cat Allies – –
Clearinghouse for information on feral and stray cats. Advocates trap-neuter-return (TNR). Action center where advocates can take immediate action to help feral cats around the country.


American Humane Association – 
Prevent cruelty, abuse, neglect, and exploitation of children and animals.

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – –
Our mission is to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States. We offer national programs in humane education, public awareness, government advocacy, shelter support, and animal medical services and placement.


Animal Sheltering Magazine – 
Online resource for animal care and control professionals and volunteers. Read back issues of Animal Sheltering magazine, check out our Animal Care Expo, peruse the latest job openings and delve deeper into the Shelter Library.


Best Friends Animal Sanctuary – –
Best Friends Animal Society is working with shelters, rescue groups and our members nationwide to bring about a time when there will be no more homeless pets. Best Friends operates the nation’s largest sanctuary for homeless animals; provides adoption, spay/neuter, and educational programs around the country; and publishes Best Friends, the nation’s largest general-interest animal magazine.


Dogs Deserve Better – –
Dogs Deserve Better is the voice for all dogs living chained outside. They deserve TLC, not chains, and to be treated as beloved companions, not prisoners.


Friends of Animals – 
FoA works to cultivate a respectful view of nonhuman animals, free-living and domestic. Our goal is to free animals from cruelty and institutionalized exploitation around the world. Pet owners may purchase a certificate from Friends of Animals that can be used for a routine spay or neuter surgery at any of FoA’s participating veterinary hospitals. Certificates may be purchased online or by calling 1-800-321-PETS.


Humane Society of the US (HSUS)- 
The mission of The Humane Society of the United States is to create a humane and sustainable world for all animals, including people, through education, advocacy, and the promotion of respect and compassion.


Missing Pet Partnership –

Missing Pet Partnership is a national, non-profit organiation dedicated to reuniting lost companion animals with their owners/guardians.


People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) – –
PETA is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals. PETA operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the fur trade, and in the entertainment industry.

On PetFinder, you can search adoptable pets, locate shelters and rescues, browse resource library, post classified ads for lost or found pets, pets wanted, and pets needing homes, sign up to volunteer for local shelter or rescue.
