Pssssst . . . Do You Have a Secret?

Do you have a secret? Are you hiding something from your friends and neighbors? You’re not alone.

Sometimes you see some of those others on the news and you worry that you might be discovered too. Then what would you do? But there doesn’t seem to be any any way out. You can’t imagine that there’s a solution, and your situation keeps getting worse.

What is it that takes up so much of your time, your money, your energy, and even your emotional health? You are caring for a large number of animals.

We’re not talking about one or two dogs or a litter of kittens. This is much bigger. It may have started with just a stray cat who needed a home, so you took her in. But before you could get her fixed, you discovered that she was pregnant. Surely you’d be able to find homes for the kittens, but you had no idea a momma cat could get pregnant so soon after having a litter. Or that her kittens could mate with each other, especially while they were so young. Or maybe you took in too many strays or you’re just feeding them in your backyard and they keep having babies. However it began, the numbers have snowballed, and there’s no end in sight! And suddenly you find yourself in a real predicament! More cats and kittens than you can afford, and even more on the way.

What to do? You’re afraid that if you call for help, some of those precious babies might suffer a terrible fate. And what would people think if they found out that your house is filled with cats? Maybe the kitty litter is not being changed often enough. Maybe there’s not enough cat food. Maybe fleas are becoming a serious problem. Maybe some of the cats are getting sick, but you just don’t have enough money to take them to a veterinarian. Or maybe your situation involves dogs or other needy animals. And maybe you feel that you’re out of options.

If any of this sounds familiar, please do not panic. Yes, your situation has become very serious, but we believe we can help you turn things around. First you have to admit that you need help, and so do the animals you are caring for. You can’t do it alone. Your intentions are good, but some problems are too big to handle all by yourself. And this one keeps getting bigger!
